New Zealand wikiper BJ Watling sprained his finger as he collected a throw from Kane Williamson during India’s 53rd inning on the sixth day of the WTC final.
However, that did not stop Watling from returning to the field in the afternoon. The New Zealand wikiper wrestler is playing in his last international match and decided to come out to save despite the injury.
“BJ Watling sprained his right ring finger in the first session and received medical attention during his lunch break before returning to the field. # WTC21,” the official New Zealand cricket Twitter account said.
Earlier, Rishabh Pant took a cavalier approach as the big wadding stars rose until India reached 130 for five at noon on the reserve day of the final against New Zealand.
India, led by 98 tracks at noon, with a maximum of 73 overs left in a match where time robbed two full days of cricket.
India would like to hit at least an hour in the afternoon session, which could make it harder for New Zealand to pursue a target of around 150 in three hours.
Pant’s “Devil May Be Interested” attitude would surely leave the Indian locker room with hearts in his mouth, as he remained undefeated at the break with 28 of 48 balls in his name. Ravindra Jadea with 12 of 20 balls keeping him company.
