Vi (Vodafone Idea) has expanded its voice with a Wi-Fi call service to the Apple iPhone. The telecommunications company now offers Wi-Fi calls for select Android smartphones and is now launching this feature for the iPhone as well. Vi announced that iPhones running iOS14.5 will be able to use the Wi-Fi call service to make and receive voice calls over a Wi-Fi network instead of using their existing cellular network. This feature is useful in areas that have poor cellular uptake. If users in such areas have a reliable Wi-Fi connection, they will get better voice quality at no extra cost.
According to We, all iPhone users who have updated their phones to iOS14.5, that was rolled last week, they can use their smartphone to make calls over Wi-Fi if they are in an area that has uneven cellular reception to get great voice quality. The feature is only available in selected regions. According to Website Vi, the service is currently available in Maharashtra and Goa, Kolkata, Gujarat, Delhi, as well as in Mumbai.
The update also wears a number of privacy and support features for Face Unlock while wearing a mask (if you have an Apple Watch) and transparency of application tracking, which allows users to control which applications should be allowed to track their activity in other applications and websites offering personalized ads and data sharing with third parties.
Here’s how to enable Vi WiFi Calling on your iPhone (iPhone 6s or later):
For the feature to work, users must have working Wi-Fi, a supported headset and an active 4G SIM card

In addition to Apple phones, Vi currently offers Wi-Fi calling on smartphones from OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Samsung and Xiaomi.
