New Zealand became the world’s first World Champion after the country defeated India in the final of the first championship of this format in Southampton on Wednesday.
Kiwis chase the 139-goal with eight wickets to spare as Williamson remains undefeated at 51 while an experienced campaigner Ross Taylor (47 *) hit the winning tracks to seal the title.
For India, this was a test to be forgotten, as they were surpassed by their counterparts in all three departments.
