The Miami Open plans to allow 750 fans on the court for this year’s tennis tournament and will be allowed to watch matches on the showcase.
These matches will be played in the 5,000-seat grandstand, which means that the crowds there will be limited to 15% of capacity due to the limitations of COVID-19.
The tournament will once again take place at the Miami Dolphin Stadium, where it moved in 2019. The event was canceled last year due to the pandemic. The stadium court for showcase matches in 2019 will not be used this year.
The tournament is held from March 23 to April 4.
The total attendance at this year’s tournament is expected to be around 18,000. That’s less than 5% of the total 388,734 attendance for an event that typically attracts most of the best players in the world.
