Tenet – Christopher Nolan’s epic espionage film – is now airing in Amazon Prime Video in India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. For those who subscribe to Amazon Prime, this is now the most affordable way (essentially free) to watch Tenet online in India. But this is not the best way to watch Tenet, as the Prime Video version is limited to high definition (HD) video resolution. On-demand video platforms such as Apple TV (formerly iTunes Movies) and Google Play, Tenet is available in 4K HDR (with Dolby Vision support). There is no support for Dolby Atmos, because Nolan is not particularly interested in 3D audio technology.
With its launch in streaming service, Tenet has already completed each step of its release cycle. The Nolan the film has a delayed release in Indian cinemas due to the pandemic – it has arrived December 4, a few months after its premiere in late August and early September in Europe, the United States and elsewhere. But thanks to the pandemic, Tenet has also accelerated the spread of all other media. It was available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray for only the month of January 4 and then debuted on video-on-demand platforms (including Apple TV,, Google Play,, Hungama game,, Dad Sky, and Movies on YouTube) later that month January 29 – Eight weeks after the cinemas.
And now, Tenet is finding its way to streaming with Prime Video two months later. In total, this is less than four months since the launch of Tenet for the first time in India. This is a much shorter cycle than usual. For his greatest films, Warner Bros. India usually waiting about six months – in this case, Joker – before enabling them on Netflix and Prime Video. Speaking of Netflix,, Warner Bros. has a dual licensing system in India. His films were first available on Prime Video in a year before moving to Netflix. Case in point Joker Again, this arrives on April 20 at Netflix in India. This means that you can expect Tenet to be available on March 31, 2022 on Netflix in India.
Written and directed by Nolan, Tenet follows a secret agent (John David Washington) who learns that the flow of time can be reversed and that this is essential to his latest mission: to save his world from an attack led by the future. Tenet too stars Robert Pattinson as the head of Agent Neil, Elizabeth Debitsky as the estranged wife of the villain Kat, Dimple Kapadia as the arms dealer Priya, Kenneth Branag as the Russian oligarch villain Sator, Himesh Patel as the fixer Mahir, Aaron Taylor and the Special Operations Commander Clemens Possey as a scientist Barbara, Martin Donovan as the head of CIA agent Faye, Fiona Durif as the leader of special operations teams Wheeler, Yuri Kolokolnikov as the bodyguard of Sator Volkov, Denzil Smith as the husband of Priya Sanjay and Michael Kane as an intelligence officer.
Tenet is already coming out on Amazon Prime Video in India. In the US, Tenet will not be available for streaming until May 1, when it arrives HBO Max.
