The brands Itel and Tecno, owned by Transsion Holdings, have announced a 60-day extension of the warranty in India due to the blockade imposed by the pandemic in several areas. The companies have separately announced that they will meet the conditions only those smartphones and phones with features whose guarantees expire between April 15 and June 15. Eligible smartphone owners will need to register their devices in the CarlCare Mobile app before June 30, 2021. The move comes amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the country and is in the footsteps of several other manufacturers offering warranty extensions due to blocking provisions that would prevent customers from visiting service centers. Transsion India has listed a few steps to guide eligible owners on how to extend their warranty.
The warranty extension notice of Fluent and Itel smartphones and phones with features is made through series on tweets. Some smartphones and phones with features will be eligible if their warranty expires between April 15 and June 15. However, eligible users will need to apply for the CarlCare mobile application. Users can download the app through the Google Play Store.
How to extend the warranty for Tecno and Itel phones
- Download CarlCare app from Google Play Store
- Open the CarlCare app and click the warranty button on the home page
- Check the validity of your device by entering the IMEI
- If your device qualifies for an extension, you will see an option for an extended 60-day warranty. Click Receive to extend the warranty.

“The second wave of coronavirus, which imposes restrictions on blocking and movement, has again prompted us to stay indoors, restricting consumer access to products and services,” said Arieet Talapatra, CEO of Transsion India, in a press release.
Others brands that soon announced warranty extension due to COVID-19 locking provisions include Опо,, Xiaomi,, Vivo, and A little. Similar moves were made last year, during the previous phase of a major blockade.
