Legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi underwent a bypass in a city hospital a few days ago after complaining of heart problems and recovering well.
Bedi, 74, underwent the procedure 2-3 days ago and is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon, according to a close confidant of the former Indian captain.
“As far as I know, he had some heart problems and was bypassed 2-3 days ago on the advice of doctors,” he told PTI.
“He is currently doing well and is recovering from surgery and is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon,” he added.
Bedi, a first-class Orthodox spinner in his left hand during his playing days, represented India in 67 tests and 10 ODIs between 1967 and 1979, scalping 266 and seven cassettes, respectively.
