The Indian team with limited staff, consisting of 20 players and five net bowls, left for Sri Lanka on Monday and will reach Colombo after 16:00.
“They will reach Colombo after 16:00 and will be quarantined immediately,” confirmed a Sri Lankan cricket official (SLC).
The team led by an opener Shikhar Davan and coached by Rahul Dravid, will play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals next month.
“Everything is ready! [emoticon: blue heart]. Sri Lanka tied flag of Sri Lanka. #TeamIndia Flag of India #SlvIND, “posted on Twitter the Cricket Board of India (BCCI).
“We will start training three days after arriving in Colombo,” Captain Davan told the media on Sunday.
This means that the Indians will probably start training no later than Friday, 11 days before the opening of the ODI tour on July 13.
India also plays ODI on July 16th and 18th.
The ODI series will be followed by the T20 International series, with matches on July 21, 23 and 25.
“The main goal is to try to win the series. We hope that people can get opportunities to present performances and knock on the doors of selectors,” Dravid said before leaving for Sri Lanka.
