Sergio Aguero is close to negotiating a move to Barcelona, according to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. Aguero signed at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday with a 5-0 finish in the Premier League title against Everton.
The 32-year-old Argentine will end the club’s record decade after Saturday’s Champions League final against Chelsea in Porto. The City’s top scorer has always been strongly linked to a free transfer to Barcelona after his contract expires this summer, and his boss Guardiola – a former manager of the La Liga giant – has confirmed that this is his likely destination, reports DPA
“I’m pretty sure – maybe I’ll reveal a secret – he’s close to negotiating a deal for the club of my heart, for Barcelona,” Guardiola told the BBC’s Match of the Day.
“He will play with the best player of all time Lionel Messi. I’m sure he will like it. And maybe Barcelona is getting stronger and stronger with him on the field,” added Guardiola.
