Samsung’s alleged phones explode in flames; Singes Male hand, hair: Watch the video

Written by admin

In a shocking incident, a phone in a man’s bag suddenly caught fire in China. His hair, arm and eyelashes were baked according to a video posted by SCMP News on Twitter. The man claims it is a Samsung phone he bought in 2016. He also said that the phone’s battery was not changed and was not charged when it exploded in flames while walking down the street. The incident is being investigated according to the shared video.

The video, posted on Twitter by the South China Morning Post on April 20, shows a man and woman walking through a crowded street. Suddenly a spark appeared in the bag he was carrying, followed by a small burst of flame. This prompts him to leave his bag on the street and check himself. The video also shows traces of burns on his arm and shows his hair and eyebrows to be burned. Although the charred phone was later shown in the video, it could not be verified that it actually was Samsung phone.

Many users of Twitter suggested that the swollen battery could be the cause of the fire. “Battery swelling may be one of the reasons; second, there may be other objects in the bag that have come in contact with the inside of the phone, the back cover may not have been closed properly. Why do the Chinese use such old phones when they come out with new phones every month, “Stony (@tony_dsilva) posted.

Another user, Jackie Lan (@ jackielan2000) wrote on Twitter that there was no point in mentioning the brand name, as the phone was five years old and must have had a swollen battery. “No sense in naming the brand. It’s a 5-year-old phone. By now, the battery should have swelled. The battery of my ZTE BA910, purchased in 2017, swelled 2 years later and luckily it didn’t ignite.”

Gowtham (@ GowthamM87) wrote on Twitter that the man must have used an inflated battery, adding that Samsung addressed the issue when the Galaxy Note 7 reported the problem back in 2017.

In 2016, Samsung remembered 191 000 Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in China after reported cases of battery overheating. He had also warned his customers around the world to turn off their devices.
