While “Friends: The Reunion”, the return home of popular cast members after a long 17 years, continues to build fans across the internet, India is opening up Rohit Sharma longs for a different kind of collection.
On Thursday, the captain of the Indians in Mumbai shared a photo in which he raises his bat to the Indian fans in the stands. Amid the storm “Friends: Reunion” on the Internet, Rohit turned to social media to write: “FRIENDS, this is the gathering I’m waiting for.”
Rohit led five-time Mumbai Indian champions IPL 2021 before the tournament is postponed indefinitely due to the growing cases of COVID-19 in its bio-bubble. However, the lucrative T20 league is reportedly moving to the UAE later this September.
Rohit’s Mumbai Indians and Indian teammate Jasprit bumrah also shared a story that read “Loving the Friends Reunion.” The Mumbai Indians also reminded their fans of the “gathering” they are waiting for. “We are all waiting for this Union,” writes the IPL franchise.
Rohit has already joined the England-linked team’s bio-bubble before heading to the UK for the long-awaited WTC final against New Zealand and a series of five tests against the Three Lions. The WTC will take place on June 18 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
“Uridhiman and Prasid Krishna joined the balloon two days ago after fully recovering from COVID-19. Mumbaikars such as Virat, Rohit and coach Shastri have already joined the balloon,” a BCCI source confirmed to the PTI news agency.
Indian men’s and women’s teams are expected to fly to the United Kingdom on June 2, after all playing and non-playing members return three negative RT-PCR results. Women from India have to take part in England in one test, three ODIs and so many T20 Internationals, starting on June 16.
