India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan qualified for the second round of the French Open for men in singles, but Prajnesh Gunsvaaran crashed after losing in the first round here on Tuesday.
Ramcoumar wiped out a one-set deficit to beat American Michael Mmoh 2-6 7-6 (4) 6-3 in his opening round, which lasted one hour and 54 minutes.
He will then take on Uzbek veteran Denis Istomin, who also recorded a three-set victory against Bosnian Damir Dzumhur.
Left-wing Praznes, ranked 32nd, suffered a rather mild 2-6 2-6 loss to German Oscar Otte.
India’s top single player Sumit Nagal, ranked 27th, will launch his campaign against Roberto Marcora.
