Liverpool and Chelsea have secured their last two Champions League qualifiers on an exciting last day of the Premier League season, with Leicester missing out on a three-way battle to finish the four on Sunday.
Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa was not critical, as Leicester conceded three late goals to lose 4-2 at home to Tottenham and remain in fifth place.
Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-0 and jumped to third place, two points above fourth-placed Chelsea.
Leicester also missed the Champions League qualifiers, losing on the last day of last season.
West Ham beat Southampton 3-0 to finish sixth to qualify for the Europa League, and Tottenham’s victory at Leicester secured the team entry into the new Europa League League.
Sergio Aguero marked his last game in the Premier League for Manchester City, scoring twice as a substitute in the champion’s 5-0 victory over Everton.
Harry Kane finished as the top scorer with 23 goals – one before Liverpool Mohamed Salah – after a goal in Leicester.
