Prasid Krishna is recovering from COVID-19; to join the Indian team on 23 May

Fast bowling M Prasid Krishna, who is part of India’s expanded team for test matches in England, has recovered from Covid-19 and will leave for Mumbai from Bengaluru on May 23.

“He has recovered from Covid-19, is currently in Bengaluru at his home and will leave for Mumbai on May 23,” said a source familiar with the development of IANS.

Krishna, who represents Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was one of four KKR players with a positive test during the IPL, which was postponed after a bio-bubble burst in which four teams were affected by the virus.

The bowling is expected to travel to England as one of four players on standby, along with colleagues Avesh Khan and Arzan Nagvasvala, and batsman Abhimanyu Iswaran.

Apart from Krishna, Varun Chakravarti, Sandip Warrier and New Zealander Tim Seifert were the other KKR players with a positive test.

All three players also recovered with Seifert’s return home to New Zealand.

Bowling with his right hand, Krishna made his international debut during the ODI series against England in March and chose six wickets in three games.

The Indian men’s and women’s teams are expected to depart for England from Mumbai on June 2 on a charter flight.
