The specifications of the OnePlus 9T expired from the tipster before its official announcement by the company. The Android phone is believed to have a Samsung LTPO OLED display with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone is said to be OnePlus’ next flagship offering based on its smartphone launch trends. The company launched the OnePlus 8T after the OnePlus 8 series last year and is now expected to do the same with the OnePlus 9T. The OnePlus 9 Pro also carries an AMOLED LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
OnePlus launches the T-variant on its flagship phones, usually about six months after the launch of the flagship series. The OnePlus 8 series was starts in April last year and OnePlus 8T came in October. The company is expected to continue this trend with its own OnePlus 9 series, and bring the OnePlus 9T later in the year.
Famous tipster with the nickname Arsenal (in translation) shared of Weibo that the OnePlus 9T will use a Samsung E4 LTPO OLED display with a variable refresh rate of 120Hz and a full-HD + resolution. The OnePlus 9 Pro also carries an LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate, but has a higher display resolution of 1440×3,216 pixels.
The LTPO display allows the phone to reduce its clock from a refresh rate of 120 Hz to 1 Hz depending on the case of use, which effectively improves the battery life of the phone. In our review, we found that the OnePlus 9 Pro consistently manages to provide all-day battery life and only runs for 16 hours in our HD video loop test. Now how much of this is due to the LTPO display cannot be confirmed. But it should be noted that the OnePlus 9 Pro has a higher resolution display than rumors of a Full-HD + display on the OnePlus 9T.
It is also expected that this year – like last year – the company will not release OnePlus 9T Pro, as it did with the older generation OnePlus 7T series. OnePlus does not currently share any information about the OnePlus 9T.
