OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T Getting an OxygenOS Update 10.3.12

OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T get a stable version of Android 10-based OxygenOS 10.3.12. The update comes with the Android 2021 security patch and offers system stability improvements along with fixes for known issues. OnePlus also mentioned that the distribution is not specific to the region and will eventually reach all users. OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are also expected to receive a stable version of the Android 11-based update OxygenOS 11 soon after the smartphones have already received an open beta version of it.

According to a post at its official Community Forum, OnePlus announced that its leading smartphones from 2018 – OnePlus 6 (Review) and OnePlus 6T (Review) – get the latest July 2021 Android security patch s OxygenOS 10.3.12 update. In addition, there are some unspecified system stability improvements and fixes for known issues. The publication does not mention which region will receive the update first, but only that the update will be distributed to all users gradually.

The amount of the update is not yet known. Users are advised to update their acceptable phones while connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection and charged. The update should arrive automatically, but users can manually check for it by going to Settings> System> System Updates.

Earlier this month, OnePlus announced that OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T have received Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 open beta update. This was the third major software update for smartphones released in 2018. Android 8.1 Oreo and subsequently received Android 9 Pie and Android 10 updates. The open beta test means that some smartphone users will be able to test the new software and report OnePlus bugs so that the company can release a stable update for all users.
