Novak Djokovic of Serbia celebrates after his last tennis match of the Belgrade tennis tournament against Alex Molkan of Slovakia in Belgrade, Serbia, Saturday, May 29th

Novak Djokovic prepared for the French Open, defeating Alex Molcan 6-4, 6-3 to take his 83rd career title on Saturday at home to the Belgrade Open.

The highest-ranked Djokovic struggled for service in the first set, as he was beaten three times by his Slovak rival. Djokovic was also defeated once in the second set by Molcan, the 255th ranked qualifier, playing his first final at the level of a tour, but was reliably able to dominate Molcan’s serve for a total of six breaks in the match.

This is the third title in Djokovic’s career in his home country, after winning the Serbian Open, a different tournament in the same city, in 2009 and 2011.

Djokovic is tied against Tennis Sandgren from the USA in the first round of Roland Garros.
