Motorola Edge + has finally received its update for Android 11. Motorola, together with the operator Verizon Wireless, introduced the update of Android 11 on its smartphone Edge + six months after the release of Android 11 by Google. The flagship smartphone that came with it received a new security patch – the first since December. The new version of Android will mark the first major OS update for the smartphone since its launch last year.
According to a post on the Verizon website, Motorola launches the stable Android 11 on the phone, which updates the US. There is currently no information on distribution plans for other regions. The update, with compilation number RPB31.Q1-19-19-11-2-1, included in the Android security package from February 2021, will give the Motorola Edge + some new features of Android 11. Users will now be able to use Bubbles on the locked screen for the messaging app, easy connectivity features for smart home devices, and improved privacy settings.
In addition, the update will fix key issues, such as not being able to call or use data when you’re on a 5G network, and incorrectly measuring data usage while you’re on a mobile access point or USB connection. To install the update, follow the instructions if you received a release notification. Otherwise visit Settings> About phone> System updates> and tap “Yes, I’m in” to start downloading an available update.
We can expect regions other than the United States to begin receiving the update in the coming weeks. Motorola Edge + is the company’s newest leading smartphone in India and it was starts in May 2020. It is powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC, which is paired with the Adreno 650GPU and comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It is also equipped with a 6.7-inch full-HD + “Endless Edge” display that supports HDR10 + and has a refresh rate of 90Hz. The rear has a quad-camera setup with a 108-megapixel main lens and runs on a 5000 mAh battery.
The company also recently updated you are Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power smartphones, both of which receive stable updates to Android 11. The update also came with the Android security patch in February 2021.
