The Nokia X20 will not come with a wall charger, according to the product page of the smartphone. Nokia’s HMD Global licensee released the smartphone earlier this month in Europe and will go on sale next month. The Finnish company says this was done to reduce the environmental impact of the Nokia X20. Earlier, companies such as Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi had announced that they would not ship wall chargers with their smartphones as they switched to sustainable, environmentally friendly packaging.
According to product page from Nokia X20, the company stressed that the smartphone box will not have a plastic wall charger and that the smartphone box in the box is “100 percent compostable”. The specifications page of Nokia the smartphone also doesn’t mention a wall charger in the list of contents in the box. HMD Global starts the smartphone in Europe on April 8.
Apple was the first large company that stop shipping wall adapters with the launch of its iPhone 12 line. Samsung Apple and Apple soon followed announced that its future models will not be available with included accessories, such as a wall charger and headphones. The company said the gradual removal of accessories from the phone could help make it more durable. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun also had announced that the Mi 11 smartphone sales boxes will not connect a charger inside.
