Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 Series updated with the latest Intel, AMD processors

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 series has been updated with the latest Intel Tiger Lake and AMD Ryzen 5000 processors. The ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 is the name given to the AMD variant, and the ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 i is the name given to the Intel variant. It boasts a higher 16:10 aspect ratio for more screens and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity with a 5G option. Lenovo has also updated its other ThinkPad models, including the ThinkPad T14, ThinkPad L14, ThinkPad L15, and ThinkPad P14s series.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 from Lenovo starts at $ 1139 (approximately Rs. 82,400) while Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 i starts at $ 1,299 (approximately Rs. 94,000). Available in Black and Storm Gray color options. While the AMD option will be available from May, the Intel version will be available from next month.

From now, Lenovo has not shared international availability details for its updated ThinkPad range.

While Lenovo does not share exact details about the AMD variant, except for the processor, Intel and AMD models can be expected to carry the same specifications. Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 is available with Windows 10 Pro, and the Intel variant has a 13.3-inch 16:10 WUXGA IPS display with a peak brightness of 300 nits and 100 percent coverage of sRGB color space. There is also a touch version of this display. Lenovo also offers a touch-sensitive privacy protection panel with a peak brightness of 500 nits. You can also get a low-power WQXGA IPS panel with a peak brightness of 400 nits, 100 percent sRGB coverage and low blue light.

Under the hood, the Intel variant can be equipped with up to 11th generation Intel Core i7 vPro processor and integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics. You get up to 32 GB of LPDDR4x RAM clocked at 4,266 MHz and up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD for storage. Lenovo says that the 54.7Whr battery of the ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 can last up to 15.5 hours and there seems to be an option for a 41Whr battery, which is rated for 12 hours of battery life. Connection options include Wi-Fi 6E / Wi-Fi 6, NFC, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB Type-A 3.2 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port and an audio jack. There is also an optional 5G connectivity. The AMD model is limited to Wi-Fi 6 and does not support Wi-Fi 6E.

Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 can be equipped with a keyboard backlight with 1.5 mm keystroke. The audio is processed by the front Dolby Audio system with speakers, and there are two microphones in the far field. In terms of dimensions, the laptop measures 305.8×217.06×18.19 mm and weighs 1.19 kg.

Lenovo has also refreshed its ThinkPad X13 Yoga, ThinkPad T14s series, ThinkPad T14 series, ThinkPad T15, ThinkPad L14, ThinkPad L15, ThinkPad P14s series and ThinkPad P15s. They also offer a choice between Intel Tiger Lake and AMD Ryzen 5000 processors. They receive Wi-Fi 6E support for Intel’s models and AMD’s Wi-Fi 6 with 5G connectivity. They also receive Dolby speaker systems and security fingerprint readers.
