Redmi K40 Gaming Edition launches in China and is the newest participant in the Redmi K40 series. The phone, as the name suggests, has some special gaming features, such as retractable shoulder buttons, three microphones, Dolby Atmos support and JBL-tuned sound, among others. The design of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is more like a regular phone and less like other gaming phones, which have a striking design and are usually thicker. The phone is also available with IP53 dust and water resistance.

Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is available in a 6GB + 128GB model that is priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 23,000), an 8 GB + 128 GB configuration that is priced at CNY 2,219 (approximately Rs 25,300), 8 GB + 256 GB at a price of 2,399 CNY (approximately R 600, 27,600), 12GB + 128GB at a price of 2,399 CNY and finally the model 12 GB + 256 GB at a price of 2,699 CNY (approximately 31,100 Rs). Available in three colors, namely black, silver, white and a special edition of Bruce Lee. The Bruce Lee special edition is only available in a 12GB + 256GB configuration and costs CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs 32,300).

Advance reservations for the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will begin tonight with a sale on April 30. There is currently no information on the international availability of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

Redmi K40 Gaming Edition specifications

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top. It has a 6.67-inch full-HD + (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a sampling rate of 480Hz. The display also supports HDR10 +. Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

For photos and videos, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition features a triple rear camera setting that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f / 1.65 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. In front there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter located in a centrally located hole for drilling holes.

Phone connection options include Wi-Fi, 5G, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C charging port. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Xiaomi is equipped with a 5 065mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging in the gaming phone. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition also offers IP53 dust and water resistance. It is 8.3 mm thick and weighs 205 grams. The speakers are tuned by JBL. The phone comes with an L-shaped USB Type-C connector.
