Indians Vijayver Sidhu and Tejaswani claimed the gold medal in the mixed team competition in the 25-meter fast pistol from the ISSF World Cup here on Saturday.
In an all-Indian gold medal match, they conveniently defeated the combination of Gurprit Singh and Ashok Abhidnya Patil 9-1 at Dr. Carney Singh’s shooting range.
In Qualifying 2, Gurpreet and Patil finished at the top with a total score of 370, while the team of 16-year-old Tejaswani and 18-year-old Sidhu collected 368.
On Friday, Sidhu won the individual silver medal in the 25-speed rapid-fire pistol race ahead of Anish Bhanwala and Gurprit.
The leaders in India continued their dominant show in the tournament, expanding their medals to 13 gold, eight silver and six bronze for a total of 27 podium finishes.
The tournament features 294 athletes from 53 countries, the last major international trip for shooters with pistols and rifles before the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.
