The Indian trio of men from Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Deepak Kumar and Divyansh Singh Panwar lost the match for the bronze medal until the shooters failed to qualify for the 10-meter ISSF World Cup air rifle team competition here on Friday.
Tomar, Kumar and Panvar lost 14-16 to the Serbian team of Milenko Sebic, Milutin Stefanovic and Lazar Kovacevic in the match for third place.
The 10-meter women’s air rifle team of Anjum Moudgil, Apurvi Chandela and Elavenil Valarivan continued to disappoint, finishing 11th in the qualifying round with a total of 1867.7.
The three shooters also failed to reach the finals of the women’s 10m air rifle race on Thursday.
India started modestly at the world event as several scorers failed to reach the final of their events on Thursday.
Saurab Chaudhary was the lone Indian medalist. The 19-year-old won a bronze medal in the men’s 10m air pistol competition.
The event is the last competitive outing of the Indian shooting team before the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
