With the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt gave support to They grow kohliRoyal Challengers from Bangalore (RCB) while sharing a photo of himself in an RCB shirt.
The famous sprinter also mocked skipper Collie and South African star AB de Villiers in his tweet. “Challengers, just to let you know, I’m still the fastest cat around. @ImVkohli @ ABdeVilliers17 @pumacricket @RCBTweets,” the sprint king wrote.
A vital part of RCB’s strike, de Villiers also responded to Bolt’s tweet, saying: “We know who to call when we need a few extra runs! Eyes @usainbolt @pumacricket”
Considered the greatest sprinter of all time, Bolt is known as an avid cricket fan. Earlier this year, he posted a video on Instagram where he played cricket with his friends.
In pursuit of the first IPL title, RCB will face defending champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 curtain on April 9. To increase their chances of a title, RCB have introduced players like Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian and Kyle Jamieson.
Deviating from its original format, there will be no home games for any franchise in the 2021 IPL season. This will be the first time that IPL teams will play all their matches in a neutral place. All eight franchises will play in four of the six places. Last year, the entire tournament was played in the UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of three active franchises in the IPL that have yet to lift the title. Last year, RCB reached the playoffs of the tournament, but was defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the elimination.
