Members of the Delhi Capitals team, including such as Adjinkya Rahane,, Ishant Sharma and You can eat, took part in their first net session on Tuesday before the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, starting on April 9.
The players had physical training as well as wadding and bowling sessions at the Cricket Club of India here, according to photos uploaded to Twitter by the Delhi-based franchise.
Team members, including Indian star Rishabh Pant, senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, universal Axar Patel, and head coach Ricky Ponting gathered at the team’s hotel here on Monday.
The group also included a batsman from the West Indies Shimron Hetmeier, England players Sam Billings, Chris Wax and Tom Quran, and bowling coach James Hopes.
This year, the 23-year-old Pant was in great shape. Pant played a big role in India’s 3-1 test against England, scoring 270 runs of six innings with the help of a century.
Pant also returned to the Indian white team against England. After a decent outing at T20 Internationals, he was in cracking form in the ODI series, hitting 77 and 78 in both games.
Both Ashwin and Aksar had an incredible run in the recent series of tests against England at home, taking into account most of the visiting wickets with their cunning.
With a regular skipper, Shrias Ayer rejected the whole thing IPL due to a shoulder injury he recently received against England in the limited series, these players will have to be at their best when the event starts.
Players will be quarantined for a week.
Delhi Capitals will face Chennai Super Kings in their first match of the IPL 2021 season at Wanhead Stadium on April 10.
Delhi Capitals finished second in the last edition of the IPL, losing to the Mumbai Indians in the final.
