Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer T Natarajan is excluded from the ongoing IPL due to a knee injury he originally took during a tour of Australia earlier this year.
The 30-year-old Natarajan had played just two of four games for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. Of course, he never fully recovered from a knee injury due to the heavy strain he endured during the tour in Australia.
“Natarajan has never fully recovered from a knee injury,” a BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity on Thursday, but did not specify how long he would be unavailable.
“He went to rehab at the NCA (National Cricket Academy), but now it is clear that even when he was declared fit to make a comeback against England, he was not 100 percent ready for the match.
“Now he could be absent for a longer period as he was in a hurry to return without proper rehabilitation,” the source added, referring to this T20 and an ODIhe played during the series in England.
Natarayan became a sensation overnight with his Yorkers in death during the last IPL and subsequently played all three formats for India in Australia.
After returning to India, BCCI never made it public that he had suffered a knee injury.
