Delhi Capitals returned to victory on Thursday when Prithvi ShawThe solo show at the second inning saw a side chance of winning seven wickets over Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad.
After a series of bowling efforts by Delhi – two checkouts by Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav – to limit KKR to 154/6, Prithvi took with a staggering 41 balls 82 to take the game away from KKR in powerplay as 67 tracks came off from him.
KKR captain Eoin Morgan they also had to face the guilt of not using their star bowler Pat Cummins with the new ball he does not use to the heel while Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarti Prasid Krishna and Sunil Narine handing out 57 tracks. Mavi anxiously handed out 26 runs in the first, with Shaw hitting six limits.
Morgan admitted after the match that Prithvi showed when he left, there was no way to stop him; showing how heavy they are.
“The show played brilliantly, there was nothing we could do. It also shows how good the surface is. We weren’t good enough in all the departments,” he said, adding that Cummins was part of the team’s new plan.
