Supporters of Inter Milan celebrate the Serie A title ahead of the Serie A football match between Inter and Udinese at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, Sunday, May 23

Inter Milan won their game for the title, starting with the 4-0 defeat of Udinese in the final round of Serie A on Sunday.

Inter won the title earlier this month, but there was an award ceremony on the pitch after their final match, with captain Samir Handanovic lifting the trophy with huge cheers inside and outside the stadium.

There were 1000 invited guests who were admitted to San Siro as friends and family and 4500 fans outside in a designated area. Hundreds of them had gathered hours before the team arrived, carrying flags and launching rockets as they chanted songs to celebrate Inter’s first Serie A title in 11 years.

Ashley Young and Christian Eriksen led Inter to the goal with goals in the first half. Lautaro Martinez scored a penalty 10 minutes after the break, with Ivan Perisic and Romelu Lukaku also scoring to contribute to the atmosphere of the party.

Roberto Pereira scored a late penalty for Udinese.

Much more will be bet later, with three teams vying for the last two places in the Champions League.

Milan, who are trying to return to the European elite after an eight-year absence, is visiting the already qualified Atalanta. Napoli hosts Greece Verona.

Milan and Napoli are one point ahead of fifth-placed Juventus, who visit Bologna in the last match of Andrea Pirlo after just one year as coach of the Bianconeri.
