Instagram Live Rooms has released a new feature where hosts will be able to mute their sound, as you would when calling Zoom or Google Meet.
In March, the Instagram photo sharing platform launches Live Rooms, allowing users to talk to three people at once in a live session, not just one.
“By giving people the ability to mute or mute their video, hosts will have added flexibility for their live experience, as the added functionality can help reduce the pressure to look or sound a certain way while broadcasting live. “Said an Instagram statement sent by email to Mashable.
Live, the company added, gives creators “a fast way with a low lift to connect with their community and audience and have a real conversation back and forth.”
Mashable said the company is not the first to follow Clubhouse’s steps in terms of audio ahead. Clubhouse, an audio-based social media app that allows users to enter and exit chats on a variety of topics, does the same. It’s like setting up a live podcast recording.
