Indian trio Anjum Moudgil, Shreya Saksena and Gaayathri Nithyanadam are vying for a silver medal in the 50-meter rifle team competition in 3 positions at the ongoing ISSF World Shooting Championships here on Thursday.
The Indian team shot 43 in a gold medal showdown to finish behind the Polish team, which scored 47 to grab the grand prize.
Earlier, India had scored 1304 and 864 in the first and second qualifying rounds, respectively.
The Polish team included Aneta Stankevich, Alexandra Shutko and Natalia Kochanska.
The bronze medal went to the Indonesian team, consisting of Vidya Rafika Rahmatan Toyiba, Monica Darianti and Audrey Zahra Diaianissa, who defeated the Hungarian trio of Lalita Gaspar, Esther Denes and Lea Horvat 47-43.
With this medal, India’s total rose to 20 with 9 gold, six silver and five bronze medals.
