The Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) announced on Wednesday the Indian team for the last two tests against England. The board kept the whole team until Umesh Yadav is set to join his teammates with the condition to pass the fitness test.
Umesh was limped with a wire injury during the second test against Australia in December and was excluded from the Test series and the first two tests against England. After recovering, he will now have to clear the Ahmedabad fitness test to regain his place in the squad, replacing Shardul Thakur.
“Umesh Yadav will join the team in Ahmedabad and, after his fitness assessment, will replace Shardul Thakur, who will be released for the Vijay Hazare Trophy,” the BCCI said in a statement.
Team for the last two tests: They grow kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma,, Mayank Agarwal,, Shubman Gil,, Cheteshwar Pujara,, Adjinkya Rahane (U), KL Rahul,, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pants (week), Wriddhiman Saha (week), R Ashwin, Kuldeep yadavAxar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ishant Sharma,, Jasprit bumrah, Md. Cheese.
The committee also selected five players and two players as substitutes.
No Bowlers: Ankit Rajpoot, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Warrier, Krishnappa Gowtham, Saurabh Kumar
Reserve players: KS Bharat, Rahul Chahar.
However, the BCCI released Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shahbaz Nadeem and Priyank Panchal for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
India made a scenario to win the series in Chennai on Monday with 317 victories in the second test after England won the opening machine last week.
The third test will be played at Mottera Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will be a day-night competition starting on February 24th.
