Ravichandran Ashwin played an incredible knock with 106 moves during Day 3 of the 2nd test in Chennai against England. The Indian spinner hit his fifth Test Century and put India in command in the Test as his innings steered the hosts to a huge 482-mile lead in the second inning.
Ashwin has partnered with Siraj for centuries, and the Indian pacer has played a valuable 16-mile kick, ensuring the home star reaches the three-figure mark.
After his century, Ashwin sought to increase the pace of celebration. During the 85th inning, Ashwin took a single at the second delivery and told Siraj from the microphone: “Maine tere upar bharosa rakhke ek liya hai, tu bhi vo bharosa rakh lena (I took a single because I believe in you, please this faith).
In turn, Siraj hit another delivery from Jack Leach for a six!
In the end, Siraj was undefeated at 16 as Ashwin was fired while trying to cope with a big blow from Olli Stone.
England lost three wickets in their second pass to 53 in their 482-year pursuit, with debutant Axar Patel taking two wickets as Ashwin bagged the wicket of the new Rory Burns.
