Cheteshwar Pujara did not come out on the field on Sunday due to a finger injury he suffered during the Indian inning in the ongoing second test against England here at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
In place of Pujara, Mayank Agarwal entered as a substitute at the start of the English inning in the morning session of Day 2 of the Test Match.

Pujara had scored 21 runs from 58 deliveries he faced on the first day before coming out against Jack Leach. On Day Two, India added 29 runs to its 300/6 overnight score before being drawn for 329. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with 161 while Adjinkya Rahane contributed with 67.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was left without 58, as the Indian innings ended in the 96th.
Pujara had suffered as many as 11 blows to his body during the last inning of a recent tour of Australia, when India chased 329 tracks in the fourth and final test in Brisbane to retain the Border-Gavascar trophy. In that match, the 33-year-old had scored a valuable 56 games out of 211 balls he faced as India recorded a memorable three-wicket victory in Gabba.
