Universal Sam Quran will not be available for selection during England’s fourth test against India, starting here on March 4, due to travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was announced on Thursday.
The 22-year-old Koran will now arrive in India with the limited team.
“Sam Quran will join the England team on a charter flight carrying other members of the limited squad to India on February 26,” the English team said in a statement.
“It was originally planned that Surrey’s station wagon would fly to Ahmedabad in time to be available for the city’s fourth test, starting on March 4,” it added.
“However, in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, providing safe arrangements for such travel proved to be too much of a logistical challenge.”
The third test starts here on February 24, followed by the fourth and final match of the series at the same place on March 4. The limited phase of the tour in England starts with T20 International here on March 12.
