BCCI President Surav Ganguli tweeted on Wednesday that he would miss being at the stadium as Mottera prepares for the return of international cricket with the pink ball test between India and England.
Ganguly wrote: “I will miss being at the stadium today .. what an effort it must have taken to create this .. a pink test was our dream and will be the second in India. The leadership of Honble Prime Minister @narendramodi Amit Shah @ AmitShah. ”
India hosted its first pink ball test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata against Bangladesh in November 2019.
Earlier, Ganguly supported the idea of hosting a test with pink balls in each series of tests.
“Absolutely. One test with a pink ball in a series is perfect. Every generation goes through changes, the pink ball is one of the main changes for cricket in test matches and for maintaining test cricket in a match,” Ganguli said.
