The HP Elite and Pro desktops were announced at Computex 2021. The range includes HP EliteDesk 805 G8 series computers and HP ProDesk 405 G8 series computers. The two new desktop series are powered by Windows 10 Pro and powered by the newly created AMD Ryzen Pro 5000 desktop processors. These desktops are also reported to support multi-display settings and are equipped with Wolf Security for Business for better protection and privacy. In addition, HP’s new computers are made of ocean-bound plastics and are Energy Star certified.
The HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Series includes the HP EliteDesk 805 G8 Desktop Mini PC, a small form factor EliteDesk 805 G8 computer. The HP ProDesk 405 G8 Series includes the HP ProDesk 405 G8 Desktop Mini PC and the HP ProDesk 405 G8 Small Format PC.
XDA developers reports that the EliteDesk 805 G8 Desktop Mini PC can be mounted behind a monitor, especially the Mini-in-One 24 display that is built with that in mind. HP claims that this model is the smallest and most powerful business computer powered by AMD. In comparison, the EliteDesk 805 G8 PC with a small form factor is slightly larger in size, has two compartments, two half-height slots, three M.2 slots and 11 USB ports. HP is likely to offer many extensibility options and configurations.
The HP ProDesk 405 G8 SFF is touted as “the most configurable small form factor business computer powered by AMD.” HP does not have detailed accurate information on the availability of any of the devices listed in Computex. The report suggests that HP EliteDesk 805 G8 desktops, EliteDesk 805 G8 small form factor PCs, HP ProDesk 405 G8 desktops and HP ProDesk 405 G8 small format PCs will be available sometime in August this year. Information on the prices of the two PC series is also not yet known.
