Chennai Super Kings players, including captain Mahendra Singh Doni, have begun preparations for the upcoming IPL earlier this month after clearing their RT-PCR tests during the scheduled quarantine period.
Besides the legendary Donnie, a senior batsman Ambati Rayuda, Ruturaj Gaikwad and several others are part of the camp, which began on Monday.
Since then, the players have played in internal matches, and during one such game on Wednesday, CSK’s 22-year-old Harishankar Reddy bowed to a beauty to free captain Donnie.
He rocked MS Dhonia stump with a ball that moved abruptly to the right hand. I watch:
During the recent mini-auction CSK took multifunctional England Mouen Ali for Rs 7 crores, with the exception of Karnataka universal K Gowtham (for Rs 9.25 crore) and Cheteshwar Pujra (Rs 50 varnish).
This year’s IPL begins with a match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai on April 9. The three-time CSK champion starts his campaign the next day in Mumbai against Delhi Capitals.
Interestingly, in this year’s IPL all matches will be played in neutral places, no team will play in their hometown.
