On Monday, the Supreme Court sought answers from Future Retail and others on Amazon’s appeal against Delhi’s order from the Supreme Court to maintain the status quo in the Future-Reliance deal.
The summit court said the proceedings before the National Commercial Court would continue, but would not end with a final order merging Future Retail with Reading.
While issuing a notice different to Future Retail and others, the panel said that the response to the complaint of Amazon will be filed in three weeks and a reply in two weeks thereafter and Amazon’s complaint will be included in the hearing list in five weeks.
Last month, Amazon appealed to the Delhi Supreme Court seeking enforcement of an emergency order (EA) order at the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) that prevented Future Retail from continuing the deal with Reliance
In an interim order of February 8, the court said that the sole judge’s order was maintained, as Future Retail was not a party to the subscription agreement (SSA) between Amazon and Future Coupons, and the US e-commerce giant was not a party to a deal between Future Retail and Reliance Retail.
