French Open runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas was upset in the first round of Wimbledon by Francis Tiafoe of the United States.

The 57th-ranked Tiafoe exerts pressure, often charging the net and winning 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. Previously, he was 0-11 against players ranked in the top five.

Tiafoe scored 24 points in the net and saved all seven break points he encountered.

Tsitsipas was placed third and won more matches than any other player on the men’s tour this year. He reached his first Roland Garros Grand Slam final this month before squandering a two-set lead in the final against Novak Djokovic.

Tsitsipas lost in the first round of Wimbledon for the third time in four appearances.
