The head coach of the Indian Super League of FC Goa Juan Ferrando has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently isolating himself, the club announced on Thursday.
“Gaffer is in good health at the moment and shows no symptoms. The club will continue to monitor the situation and provide all necessary support,” the club said in a statement.
He said other players and staff had a negative result.
“FC Goa is and will continue to follow all protocols related to COVID-19. Testing continues to be carried out strictly for the whole team. The other players and employees have negative tests,” the club said.
The club also called on anyone who has been in contact with Ferrando in the last few days to be tested and take the necessary precautions.
Goa FC finished fourth in the ISL, which ended on March 13 with new champions in Mumbai City.
Ferrando had led the team to the semi-finals, where he lost 5-6 with a tie-break from Mumbai City.
