After missing the decisive series for India against Australia, followed by the England Test series for a long-running dismissal of the injury last year IPL,, Bhuvneshwar kumar made the right kind of noise on his return to the national side.
Pacer made good use of the new ball in the limited series against England with six cassettes in 3 ODI while saving less than five tracks while playing five T20Is.
Speaking of his return, his IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor and Indian cotton legend VVS Laxman shed light on how bowling returned to the gym after receiving some major injuries.
“Working closely with him at Sunrisers Hyderabad, I know how much it meant for him to return to this Indian team. The last 2 years have been difficult for him. Whenever he had the opportunity, he did really well with the ball. It’s never easy for a fast bowler to have recurring injuries. And unfortunately, he had several major injuries, “Laxman said on a television show.
“But all the hard work and time spent at the NCA gave him the right rewards. Exactly from the T20I series, one thing that was very obvious was the way Bhuvneshwar managed to swing the new ball. Every time he did that, India is in a good position because taking the door with the new ball is crucial.
He added that his return at the time would be a major boost to India’s ambitions for the T20 World Cup later in November this year.
“I think Bhuvneshwar’s return to form is a big, big plus for India, especially given the T20 World Cup that will be held in India this year.”
