The postponed Euro 2020 will still take place in 12 cities on the continent, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
A member of UEFA’s governing body for European football said the goal was to stick to the 12-city plan.
“The goal remains to be able to maintain the regime of the event,” Rainer Koch, vice president of the German Federation (DFB), was quoted as saying by dpa.
He acknowledged that it was too early for “final statements”, but showed confidence in vaccines, the effect of which “will be much stronger in a few weeks”.
Euro 2020 is to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2021, after being postponed by a year.
