Cricket from Sri Lanka (SLC) has launched an investigation against Niroshan Dikuela and Kusal Mendis for the claim that he burst the bio-balloon during the ongoing tour in England after their alleged video of going out at night went viral on social media.

The two were spotted roaming the streets of Durham after the final T20 international on Sunday night, which Sri Lanka lost. Both players were part of player XI in the match with Sri Lanka, lost with a massive 89 tracks.

The SLC will investigate whether they violated the bio-balloon by going out at night.

Reacting to the video posted by a Sri Lankan fan, SLC chief Shami Silva said that “an investigation is underway because they have violated (the code of conduct)”.

Sri Lanka dropped 0-3 in the T20 series, which ended on Sunday. This was the island’s fifth consecutive loss in the international T20 since October 2020.

The defeat led to former greats such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan, Roshan Mahanama, Hashan Thilakaratne and Tillekaratne Dilshan, who expressed horror at the poor performance.

Sri Lanka will play the first of three ODIs with England tomorrow at Chester Le Street.
