“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” Episode 3 “Power Broker” – released last Friday at Disney + and Disney + Hotstar – brought back Helmut Zemo (Daniel Bruhl), the manipulative villain from the 2016 Marvel film “Captain America: Civil War.” Our titular characters Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) enlist Zemo’s help in finding the Super Soldier Serum, which takes them to the (fictional) island of Madrippur in the Indonesian archipelago. There, at the Madripoor nightclub, while the trio waits for Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) to find the man they are looking for, Zemo makes a few moves in a small dance routine. I say tiny because the scene lasts a few short seconds.
But for some fans of The falcon and the winter soldier, this little Zemo dance became the focus of the third episode and series so far – Zemo’s charismatic persona, his coat game and his lifestyle as Batman without morals (Zemo revealed that he was the baron of the episode The Falcon and Winter Soldier 3 ) all also contributed to this. Now, people in Disney + and a miracle had the bright idea to turn Zemo’s viral moment into something in itself. They collected all the footage from Zemo’s dances – all 25 seconds – and turned it into a 60-minute cycle. It’s fun, great, and just what the Internet needs in these depressing times.
In an interview earlier this week, Bruhl revealed that the Zemo dance was improvised by him. “[That moment] he was improvised when I saw the crowd dancing, walking loco, “Bruhl said. Entertainment weekly. “I felt the rhythm and said, ‘Zemo has been sitting in a cunning German prison cell for years. So, he has to let off some steam and show his moves. Let’s do this! ‘I enjoyed the reaction of Anthony and Sebastian watching me so much. Still, I was 100 percent sure they would cut it [of the show]. I was really surprised and happy that they kept it.
“It was a long dance. There is something else, but they cut this little moment [for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 3]. I didn’t know what was going on, but then I got all these messages from friends who were cracking. My friends who know me well know that I am an embarrassing, passionate dancer on the floor, but these would be different movements. This would be the Spanish side of my kicking and doing some matador, flamenco movements, getting down on my knees. Shame on my friends. “
And now the longer 25-second incision of Zemo’s dance is officially there. I wonder what Brühl makes of it.
