Coco Gauff and Venus Williams team up in pairs at the French Open.
The women’s draw was announced Sunday in Paris, with 17-year-old Gauff and 40-year-old Williams in surprises.
Gaff has twice beaten Williams in a Grand Slam single – at Wimbledon in 2019 and at the Australian Open last year.
Williams is a seven-time grand single champion and holds 14 more Slam doubles titles, which she won with her younger sister Serena.
In the first round, Gauff and Williams will face 13th place Ellen Perez and Zheng Saisai.
Other pairings include 2020 Open Open single champion Iga Swiatek with Bethanie Mattek-Sands and 2019 single champion Ash Barty with Jennifer Brady.
The number 1 team is Hsieh Su-Wei and Elise Mertens.
