Tomorrow’s war officially landed on Amazon Prime Video. On Wednesday, Amazon announced that Chris Pratt-directed sci-fi action film will be released on July 2 on its worldwide streaming platform in 240 countries and territories. And it’s probably the most expensive acquisition of Amazon movies to date. Amazon reportedly paid $ 200 million (about Rs 1,486) to take The Tomorrow War, which was produced by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media. This will be Paramount’s third film to land on Prime Video during the COVID-19 pandemic, after Eddie Murphy-led Coming 2 America (sold for $ 125 million) and the upcoming one, directed by Michael B. Jordan.
For First and foremost, The Tomorrow War joins a growing list of movies that have been sold on streaming service during these turbulent times. ViacomCBS’s own studio is also partnering Netflix on several titles, including romcom Birds in love with Isa Rae and Kumail Nanjani, SpongeBob: The SpongeBob Getaway, Aaron Sorkin The Chicago Process 7 which has been nominated for several Oscars and the adventure film Love and monsters (coming April 14 on Netflix). Paramount has starred in some major movie films, including a sequel to John Krasinski Quiet place, part IIand two Tom Cruise movies, Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible 7.

In Tomorrow’s War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive in 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years into the future, humanity is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for the soldiers and civilians of the present to be transported to the future and join the battle. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forrester (Pratt). Determined to save the world for his little daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strachowski) and his astonished father (JK Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.
In addition to Pratt, Strachowski and Simmons, The Tomorrow War also stars Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Keith Powers (Straight Outta Compton), Sam Richardson (Veep), comedian Theo Von, Jasmine Matthews (Paathers Network’s Heathers), and Mary Lynn. Raiscube (24), Edwin Hodge (Purge), Olaolu Winfunk (Coming 2 America), Seychelles Gabriel (Falling Skies), Alan Trong (Alita: Fighting Angel), Chibuikem Uche (American Housewife), Alexis Lauder (HBO’s) Guards) and Mike Mitchell (Love). Chris McKay (The Lego movie about Batman) directs a screenplay by Zack Dean (24 hours to live).
