Brisbane will be offered to host the 2032 Olympic Games for members of the International Olympic Committee to be confirmed in Tokyo next month.
IOC President Thomas Bach said that after a meeting of the Brisbane Executive Board, hosting rights could be granted to a meeting on July 21 before the opening of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Brisbane is set to be the first Olympic host to be selected without objection as part of a new system to optimize and accelerate bidding campaigns.
The Australian city was put on a fast track to victory in February when the IOC nominated it as the preferred candidate.
The Brisbane offer was led by IOC Vice President John Coates.
