Once you give up IPL 2021 the day before, Australian cricketers Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson are still stuck in Mumbai as Cricket Australia is in talks with the Australian government to bring them home, Cricbuzz reported.
The duo emerged from the IPL biosecurity bubble after abandoning their respective IPL contracts with Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday, citing personal reasons. However, their decision came after the Australian government banned flights from India amid a growing increase in COVID-19 cases in India.
The report also states that with suspended direct flights, the Oz duo will not be able to return home before May 15, when the restrictions end. The players left RCB’s camp on Sunday and moved to a hotel near Mumbai airport, while the rest of the team moved to Ahmedabad for the rest of the IPL group’s matches. RCB will play with Delhi Capitals on Wednesday at Narendra Modi Stadium.
