India’s national record holder Neraj Chopra has received a visa to travel to France to compete before the Tokyo Olympics, the star athlete said on Sunday.
“I got a visa to travel to France. I’m very happy to get a chance to compete in international competitions before # Tokyo2020,” tweeted Chopra.
The Olympic Games are to be held from July 23 to August 8.
Earlier this week, Chopra expressed concern about missing international competitions due to the pandemic. The 23-year-old was unable to travel to Europe in the last month for a training competition program.
“Due to a pandemic, we could not compete in 2020. We do not get the opportunity to compete this year due to Covid-19. The lack of international exposure harms us,” Chopra said during an online media engagement.
