Dominic Thiem returned from two sets against the talented and boisterous Nick Kyrgios to win his match of the third round of the Australian Open.
The third-placed Team did everything in its power to ignore the noisy guerrilla crowd supporting the Australian Kyrgyos and took the victory with 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Team was Novak Djokovic’s runner-up at Melbourne Park a year ago and then won his first US Open Grand Slam title in September.
Team was the first man in 71 to return from a two-way hole in the New York final and now overcome that deficit again.
Team will face Grigor Dimitrov for a place in the quarterfinals
